    J-Squared Engineering is a growing MEP engineering firm serving Missouri and surrounding states. We provide commercial, multi-family, healthcare, and educational design with a focus on client support from conceptual design through construction. At J-Squared, we believe each design deserves a thoughtful team approach and we are seeking to add a licensed professional engineer who shares this view. This is a full-time position.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the design of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems of assigned projects from the conceptual phase through construction administration

    • Communicate with the architect, owner, and other members of the design team to develop project scope and schedule

    • Perform HVAC load and ventilation calculations, select and specify equipment, and design duct work systems in compliance with the standards and codes applicable to the project

    • Work with clients to understand the electrical needs of the project, design the system, and coordinate the service with the local electric utility

    • Design sanitary and domestic plumbing systems and coordinate site connections with the civil engineer and utility

    • Perform site visits to attend progress meetings, observe progress, witness field tests, and perform punch lists

    Required Qualifications

    • BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field

    • Current Missouri PE license

    • Experience in commercial building MEP design

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD

    • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing

    • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously

    • Project Management Experience

    Preferred Skills

    • Hands on construction experience

    • Experience in Trane Trace 700 or Trace 3D
